LiYCY-CY copper braided data cables are screened cables. Braided copper screens shield each individual cable. These copper screens prevent external electromagnetic interference from affecting the data and signals travelling through the cable. LiYCY-CY cables can be used when the full transmission of data is necessary. This makes it suitable for it to be used closely with other data cables and sensitive equipment.
LIYCY-CY cables are flame retardant, and also be extremely resistant to oils and chemicals. LIYCY-CY cable is also very resistant to water. This allows the data cables to be used in damp or dry rooms in Singapore.

The LiYCY-CY cable contains many layers to its construction that enable the cable to have such distinct qualities. A typical LiYCY-CY cable consists of two and more conductor cores. Each conductor core is made of plain annealed copper, housed within a PVC insulation conductor.
PVC is also the material that is used to make inner sheaths in LiYCY-CY cables. Within each inner sheath, a tinned copper braid screen lines the inner surface. Each core is screened by tinned copper braids. This screen prevents external electromagnetic interference from coming into contact with the conductor cores, thus protecting the integrity of data and signals in each data cable. Multiple inner sheaths are stored together within another PVC outer sheath, to form individual cables.
These components give LiYCY-CY cables their distinctive features and enables such a range of applications. The copper screens protects data from being affected by external electromagnetic signals.
