Types of coaxial cables

This is usually half-inch thick. It is convenient for high signal transmission like in television and radio.
Twin axial cable
This type of coaxial cable is mostly used for high definition signal transmission. It is one of the most popular coaxial cables used today.

- Unlike the twisted pair, it has spaced amplifiers. With the metal shielding of the innermost conductor and external insulation, coaxial cables experiences minimal noise and interference.

What is noise and interference?
Noise is produced when signals from outside penetrate the cable or when the signal being transmitted is moved outside the cable. When electromagnetic fields move outside the cable, the signals become weakened. When foreign electromagnetic field enters the cable, it causes unwanted noise and ghost pictures for multimedia signal. It is almost impossible for a cable to completely resist noise and interference, but the coaxial cable resists to a larger extend than most cables.
